"Weird Al" Writes Best-selling Children's Book
Al Yankovic is world famous for his weirdness. "Weird Al" is a three-time Grammy winner, the best-selling comedy artist in history, and has more than two million followers on Twitter! He is probably most famous for his pop parodies, but Al has also just authored his first children's book. When I Grow Up (the book and the app) is a charming celebration of the wacky world of possibilities.
Al performed at the Puyallup Fair last week and in the few minutes before his tour bus left for the next stop, he talked with me about his latest venture. Check out this Verity Mom video and if you haven't already, I highly recommend you postpone growing up for one more weekend, ride a roller coaster and do the Puyallup!

Hi Rosemary! I downloaded this app for my son and it's one of his favorite bedtime stories. The games that are built in are in context with the story and pretty fun. I also like the message that you can be whatever you want to be (and can change your mind) as you grow up. Do we really ever grow up?
If someone told had told me that Weird Al would be penning a children's book while I was listening to "Eat It" on the air waves, I would have thought they were nuts! I look forward to his next one.
Very cool video Rosemary. Thank you so much for sharing this. I am excited to get the app for my little guy - I'm sure he will love it. "Weird" Al seems so down to earth in the video, it is interesting to get to see this side of him. :)
