The first day of spring, chocolate croissants, and now bill pay
I swear. Verity did not ask me to write this.
It may seem far fetched that a professional TV producer/mom blogger has high anxiety when it comes to high tech, but it's true. At times I feel like I have an allergy to computers and remote controls and most things with buttons. So the concept of paying bills online literally makes my brain stall out. I'm so behind the curve. And here I am, a blogger for a credit union. Come on! So when my latest book of stamps ran out, I took the plunge and tackled this technological task. Ten minutes later, I'm proud to report that I've discovered the beauty of bill pay and now feel like a recovering Luddite.
Friends have offered to coach me through the process many times, but in the end, I muscled through it all alone. I had my laptop, my pile of bills and my bad attitude. I logged onto the Verity website and reluctantly followed the prompts. In order to set things up I had to fill in the names and addresses for each bill. It sounded so tedious to me, but it took all of eight minutes. Then I simply scrolled down the column of bills, typed in a dollar amount and clicked 'submit payment'. Really? Was that it? No more writing checks, licking envelopes and buying stamps. I worried that my bills would be paid automatically, but not so. I can log in anytime, and choose the bills I'd like to pay and voila' it's done. So simple. I highly recommend!
