"Tai Chi is rad"
A couple months ago, Lucy walked into the house and said, "Tai Chi is rad." I smiled and asked what exactly she meant by that. In typical 11-year-old fashion she said, "I don't know, but I want to take Tai Chi." I told her she was welcome to look into it, but I wasn't aware of any Tai Chi classes for kids. Thirty minutes later she came to me and announced that there was a free "family class" on Wednesdays after school. (Thanks Generation Google!) I figured she must've got the 'free' part wrong. But not so. Kim Ivy, founder and director of Embrace the Moon offers a free weekly class for families. Tai Chi (Taijiquan) is one of the most respected practices for meditation, exercise and martial arts. Kim teaches the core principals in this class and she does it for free because she says people are financially stressed and she believes that Tai Chi is an excellent way to give back to the community. She is truly an amazing woman who inspires trust and respect in her young students. Join us!
