Stand for good
Every summer for the last 11 years, Montlake has had a lemonade stand run by a group of kids. Some of the lemonade stand pioneers are in high school now. Others return from college to join the little guys coming up in the ranks. They plan and make signs and bake for days. But these young entrepreneurs have more than 'spending money' in mind. Years ago, they decided to donate their proceeds to benefit a neighborhood organization. The Boyer Children's Clinic is a non-profit therapy and early childhood educational facility that serves children who have neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy. The folks at Boyer Clinic are touched by the kids' generosity and the kids take great pride in their endeavor. A summer pastime has become a neighborhood tradition of giving that makes everybody feel good.
